Our Emotions Can Be A Little Crazy!

Do you ever feel like sometimes you don’t know what to feel? I know that sentence can seem like an oxymoron, but sometimes we don’t do the best at showing our emotions. This can often lead to apathy at times. Apathy, is the act of remaining neutral or not asserting one particular emotion of happy or sad.

Personally, I can tend to go the way of being apathetic when I am stressed, under pressure, or making things a bigger deal than they should be. It is at these times that I have to get my emotions in check. Now, when I say this, I am not talking about suppressing the negative emotions, but rather analyzing why I am feeling what I am feeling.

In  1 John 3:20, it basically says that emotions of the heart can easily manipulate us, but trusting God can help us keep our hearts and mind on solid ground. Whenever you feel anxious, angry, apathetic, uneasy, or an emotion brings you distress, don’t demonize or suppress it, but ask God and pray as to why you are feeling what you are feeling. As I believe, all our feelings work together to make a resolve!

To hear more about the emotions that make us, well us, be sure to listen to this week’s episode! We discuss the movie Inside Out, with our special guest Carly Samach, LMHC. Episode premieres on 5/6/22!
